Ms. CHEN Joy is a Partner of EY Private Family Enterprise team with over 20 years of cross-border financial, transaction and business advisory experiences in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Australia.

The EY Private Family Enterprise team are trusted advisors to majority of the world’s top 500 family businesses. As one of the Global team members, my role is to grow EY family enterprise and family office advisory services in Greater China region, supporting Chinese background entrepreneurs, ultra-high and high net worth individuals (HNWIs), family groups and family-owned businesses structuring their affairs to accumulate, preserve and pass on their wealth and legacy to the next generation in an effective manner.

My current focus areas include family governance, succession planning, family office and charity foundation set-up, education of next generation leaders, related sector training and business development in Mainland China and Hong Kong. I m experienced in providing tailored solutions to clients with complex background, including multi-generation families and cross-border family enterprises, and provide EY NextGen programs to support future generation leaders on their individual paths towards success.

Prior to my current role, I was Executive Director of EY Australia and China Business Group leader in New South Wales. I have advised and assisted over hundred Chinese investors with diversified background including state owned enterprises, multinational corporations, listed/private companies, HNWIs and family businesses on market entry, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), investments, capital raisings and operations in Australia for 12.5 years. My key focused sectors included financial services, mining and resources, real estates, healthcare, agriculture business, power & utilities and renewable energy.

I am a frequent speaker on family business governance and family office topics at sector seminars and conferences as well as business schools in China.

I have passion for diversity & inclusion, am working for EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women program, a mentor for young professionals with interests in China market, won EY Oceania Exceptional Counsellor Award in 2017. I am also volunteer of Hsing Yun Education Foundation.
