Professor Nuzhat Tam-Zaman, Ph.D.

Nuzhat is VP of Consumer Health, and a co-founder of SinoVeda. She actively assists partners to register SinoVeda’s products in foreign jurisdictions, including the first registration of Gingko and Ginseng as pharmaceutical products in Bangladesh.
Previous to SinoVeda, Nuzhat was Director of Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism at Kinetana Group Inc., where she developed preclinical models to study absorption of Western and Chinese medicines, oversaw quality assurance and managed the R&D programs for herbal products, including Gingko, Ginseng, Echinacea and St. John’s Wort. Prior to Kinetana, she was a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics at SynPhar Laboratories, Edmonton, Canada.
Nuzhat has received a number of awards during her career, such as: Dhaka University Scholarship (1980-1988); Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship (1989-1994); Marie Louise Imrie Award (1993); and Graduate Research Trainee Award (1995). Nuzhat has a B. Pharm (1985) and M. Pharm (1988) from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, with First Class Honors. She completed her Ph.D. in Pharmacokinetics in 1996 at the University of Alberta.
